I researched various options for wireless CarPlay for my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude that comes with companion wired CarPlay. I am greatly satisfied with my choice. It sits nice and hidden, no disconnectivity issue no matter where my phone sits in the vehicle. Connects fast enough by the time I get into my car and put on a song or say where I want to go before driving. Remote start and it's ready before I sit in the car. Sound quality is not compromised compared to wired CarPlay. All buttons on the steering wheel work. Call functions work with Siri too. There's only a slight lag while changing songs or volume from the steering wheel (about + or- a second). But zero lag on the screen. Of course, it drains your iPhone's battery quite a bit if you don't plug it in, but it's quite nice that you can plug a charger into the device itself, or use another port if you need a charge. I am so glad I'm no longer tangled up in wire with a clean look inside my Jeep now. Definitely worth the money.

great gadget easy to set up

This little gadget absolutely does what it's supposed to. It has allowed me to use wired Apple CarPlay in my car without pulling my phone out of my pocket. The initial setup took less than a minute-I simply plugged it into the right USB outlet in my car, paired it via Bluetooth with my phone, and it was ready to go. My biggest worry, based on what I read, was that phone calls get badly degraded because this type of device generally introduces significant lag. I can confirm that there is no noticeable lag in calls, which is a great relief. My GPS app works excellently with CarPlay, and my music sounds great. The only problem we've seen is that if we're in the car with two phones paired with it, it sometimes pairs with the phone we don't want to connect with, and switching is not easy unless we turn off Bluetooth on the unwanted phone. However, I don't think there's any way to get around that without significant expense on the device itself. So I am really happy with this adapter and how it works in my car.

Who figured that the transition to wireless would be this simple?
Not bad at all-no noticeable lag whatsoever. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity just work, compatible with my Honda, quality audio-no sound issues.
I wish the auto-pairing with two CarPlay phones was sometimes slower or, better still, simpler to switch devices. When two phones with CarPlay are in the car, it always pairs with the last device, which is not always convenient and such a drag to change.
