Just about everything I read about these screens was very mixed, and that's why I wasn't quite sure whether to take a chance on one of these units. The screen works fine as of now. I ordered 7 days ago and received it this morning, and installing it was very easy. Hiding the wires was the hardest part, but that's optional. The wiring is completely hidden except for where it plugs into the screen, and it looks rather nice. I was undecided about whether I even needed one since my car already has an infotainment system; this carplay screen makes a huge difference. I love seeing my upcoming calendar events and accessing my Spotify without going onto my phone. I've used Siri a few times after installation and it's super, super helpful. It has decent image quality and is quite responsive and is much faster than the original screen in my car. Once plugged into the car, I just had to Bluetooth my phone to the screen and authorize Apple CarPlay, and I never had to Bluetooth the screen to the car or anything. Audio just plays normally, and I can still utilize my steering wheel to control the volume, skip songs, and vice versa; that was important to me when looking for CarPlay screens. The startup screen is just tacky, which I don't really understand as to why there is no option for alternatives, but I will follow the suggestion in one of the reviews that gives a fix for that. The startup sound is really whatever; it could be better, but for a budget option, that's cool with me.
So far, pretty good! I'll report back if something happens.
